ESTIMATOR - AEROSPACE MANUFACTURING
Seeking a qualified individual that has experience in manufacturing to fill a position in our estimating department. We do Machining, assembly, and perform some processing of sheet metal parts for the Aerospace industry.
Job Responsibilities:
Ability to analyze aerospace/aircraft blue prints, engineering models, and product standards to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates
Evaluate drawing and bill of material specifications to verify the manufacturing estimate is achievable and practical.
Consult with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to discuss, formulate estimates and resolve pricing issues
Develop make/buy analyses utilizing cost data history and supplier quotes coupled with core/context analysis.
Analyze prior proposal data to compare estimated manufacturing hours against actual executed hours, to improve future estimate accuracy.
Lead the estimating function on quick turn-around estimates, a high level of customer service, highly accurate estimates, detailed thorough analysis, written proposal presentation at an executive level, and optimized estimating process and tools.
Create accurate cost estimates for manufacturing and production programs. These programs range from highly technical developmental designs to sustainment activities for existing products in various manufacturing volumes.
Identify and quantify manufacturing requirements that may impact costs, such as labor, engineering, tooling, and capital equipment.
Collaborate with the procurement team to develop material costs.
Collaborate with engineering teams in determining designs that utilize the most efficient manufacturing methods.
Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team to validate manufacturing processes and procedures.
Support proposal personnel through the full proposal process, from RFP to final negotiations.
Support the production planning team to validate manufacturing average costs and optimal production lot sizes.
Key Skills and Requirements:
First and foremost, must have the ability to problem solve and make educated decisions independently.
Ability to think on the fly and respond to changing customer requirements.
Desire to continually learn new skills and on-the-job training.
3 or more years of related experience in manufacturing, tool design, process planning, quality control or operations finance is required.
Knowledge of mechanical fabrication methods and equipment.
Experience with both hard metals and alum manufacturing and estimating.

Understanding of Multi Axis Machining
Written and oral communication skills to support teamwork and collaboration with proposal personnel, manufacturing personnel, engineering 1 teams, and support organizations.
Ability to analyze and understand technical drawings, bills of material, engineering sketches, CAD models, prototypes, specifications, and ad hoc requirements.
Knowledge of learning curves, complexity factors, and other cost modifiers.
Ability to clearly justify final cost estimates in contract negotiations.
Microsoft Office / Excel proficient.
Ability to work well with others as part of the proposal team
Desire to continuously improve the estimating job function and optimize estimate accuracy

Job Description Estimator / Planner
The estimator/planner is responsible for growing customer relations through estimating, preparing proposals, onboarding new awards, assist with the planning work order process and some sales responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Accurately defining customer, industry and product requirements.
2. Research labor and material costs.
3. Develop estimated method of manufacturing meeting customer requirements.
4. Develop and maintain supply chain and customer relations for quoting activity.
5. Assist with forecasting pending new work opportunities.
6. Create internal work order planning based off estimated manufacturing cost structure within the framework of customer requirements.
7. Strong experience working with aerospace/defense specifications.
8. Familiarization reading engineering documentation including blueprints.
9. Broad understanding in methods of manufacturing including CNC Mills and Sheet Metal manufacturing.
10. Familiarization with contractual verbiage.
11. Experience using MRP/ERP systems.
