Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate freight shipments by working closely with carriers, clients, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and optimal routing.
• Manage transportation management systems (TMS), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and other CRM software to track shipments, update statuses, and maintain accurate data entry records.
• Develop and nurture strong customer relationships through effective account management, providing tailored logistics solutions that meet client needs.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with carriers and clients to secure competitive rates while maintaining high service standards.
• Lead lead generation efforts by identifying new business opportunities within the supply chain sector, including B2B sales initiatives.
• Oversee transportation planning and dispatching activities, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) standards, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) protocols, and other industry requirements.
• Collaborate with carriers on carrier sales initiatives, dispatching freight efficiently while managing carrier relationships for sustained partnerships.
• Conduct regular data analysis related to logistics sales performance, freight costs, and supply chain efficiency metrics to inform strategic decisions.
• Support inside sales activities by providing detailed quotes, responding promptly to customer inquiries, and assisting with contract negotiations.
• Maintain meticulous records of shipments, contracts, pricing agreements, and compliance documentation such as AS400 logs or related systems.

Experience

• Proven experience in supply chain management or transportation management roles with a focus on freight operations.
• Strong background in logistics sales or freight brokerage within a 3PL or NVOCC environment is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software (Customer Relationship Management), EDI platforms, and AS400 is essential for success in this role.
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation, account management, and developing strategic logistics solutions that enhance supply chain efficiency.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations related to transportation of sensitive goods is a plus.
• Experience with dispatching freight loads, carrier sales negotiations, pricing strategies, and lead generation techniques will set candidates apart.
