Dyck O’Neal is seeking a Senior Manager of Foreclosure & Loss Mitigation to lead and optimize our foreclosure and workout operations. This role reports to the EVP of Collections and is responsible for driving performance across the loss mitigation pipeline while remaining actively engaged in day-to-day execution.
This is a high-ownership, player-coach role in a lean operating environment. You will function as the primary owner of this line of business, with support from internal partners and external vendors, but without a large dedicated team. Success in this role requires someone who is comfortable being deeply hands-on while also building toward a more scalable operation.
Key Responsibilities
Line of Business Ownership
- Own and execute the overall foreclosure and loss mitigation strategy
- Take full responsibility for pipeline performance, timelines, and recovery outcomes
- Identify opportunities across personnel, processes, and technology to improve efficiency and results
- Partner closely with the EVP of Collections to align on priorities and performance goals
Hands-On Execution (Core to Role)
- Serve as the primary operator managing a pipeline of loans and foreclosure cases
- Assess borrower situations and determine optimal resolution strategies
- Personally negotiate settlements, repayment plans, and other workout solutions
- Drive resolution on complex and high-value cases
- Step in wherever needed to move deals forward
Vendor & Attorney Management
- Manage relationships with foreclosure attorneys, servicers, and third-party vendors
- Actively oversee timelines, costs, and execution quality
- Hold partners accountable to defined performance standards
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Track and analyze key metrics, including:
- Resolution timelines
- Recovery rates
- Foreclosure vs. workout outcomes
- Deliver regular reporting and actionable insights to leadership
- Use data to identify trends and improve decision-making
Process Improvement & Build-Out
- Establish and refine workflows and best practices
- Identify bottlenecks and implement operational improvements
- Help build the foundation for a more scalable function over time
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in:
- Loss mitigation
- Foreclosure management
- Mortgage servicing or distressed debt
- Strong understanding of foreclosure processes and borrower workout strategies
- Proven ability to independently manage pipelines and drive outcomes
- Comfortable operating in a lean, build-and-do environment
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
