Summary
The Sand Blaster will abrade surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive blasting equipment, shovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper, masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action, loads parts on racks, into barrels or into cabinets.
Responsibilities of the Sand Blaster include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities of the Sand Blaster include, but are not limited to:
- Abrades surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive blasting equipment.
- May be required to perform additional tasks from fabrication to final assembly.
- Shovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
- Masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
- Loads parts on racks, into barrels or into cabinets.
- Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
- May assist painter, repair and lubricate machines and/or equipment.
- May perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled workers.
- Must be able to read and interpret manufacturers and engineers instructions.
- Must have knowledge of general surface preparation procedures.
- Acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines.
- Physical Demand: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Working Conditions: Shop environment.
- Training/Certifications: N/A.
- Shift Time/Overtime: Monday – Friday , 7:30am - 4:00pm.
- Travel: Acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
