We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Sales, Use & Property Tax Analyst to join our tax team. This role will support indirect tax compliance, audit activities, and property tax reporting, while gaining exposure to tax systems, processes, and cross-functional operations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with sales and use tax compliance, reconciliations, exemption certificate review, and tax systems such as Avalara and ECM, along with a strong desire to grow within the tax function.

Responsibilities of the Sales, Use & Property Tax Analyst include but are not limited to:
Sales & Use Tax Compliance
- Prepare and assist in the review of sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
- Perform reconciliations between ERP systems, Avalara, and the general ledger
- Support transaction-level data analysis to ensure accurate tax calculation and reporting
- Assist in determining the taxability of products and services across jurisdictions
- Research tax rules and support responses to internal taxability questions
- Help monitor activities that may create new filing requirements
- Review and validate exemption certificates for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain exemption documentation within ECM (CertCapture)
- Partner with internal teams to resolve exemption-related discrepancies
- Support sales and use tax audits by gathering data, preparing schedules, and responding to information requests
- Assist with audit documentation and tracking of open items
- Assist in preparing property tax renditions and assessments
- Compile fixed asset data and support documentation for filings and potential appeals
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to sales and use tax
- Assist in maintaining accurate balances for indirect tax accounts
- Support process improvements and automation initiatives within Avalara and ERP systems
- Maintain documentation of tax processes and procedures
- Work with Accounting, Finance, and Operations teams to support tax-related inquiries
- Assist in ensuring proper tax treatment of transactions within business processes
- 1–3 years of experience in sales and use tax, property tax, or indirect tax compliance
- Experience with Avalara and ECM (CertCapture) preferred
- Exposure to:
- Sales and use tax return preparation or review
- Reconciliations (ERP/GL to tax system)
- Exemption certificate review
- Basic taxability determinations
- Experience preparing or supporting GAAP journal entries
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Exposure to property tax renditions and assessments
- Experience in a multi-state or multi-entity environment
