Summary
Under the direction of the Sales VP, the Sales Professional will develop strategic plans and forecasts for accounts, communicate effectively internally and externally, resolving customer issues proactively, grow and maintain sales territory, identify new sales opportunities, understand customer visions and supply chain objectives to provide proactive solutions, build relationships with decision makers, exceed sales goals and provide routine cost savings reports.
As part of our team, you recognize and cultivate potential sales leads, travel to meet with prospective customers, consultants and contractors. Endeavor to transform customer sales into lasting beneficial relationships. You will use your skills to develop capital project sales, aftermarket sales and other product sales to satisfy your customers’ needs. This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively. You report to the regional sales manager within our territory.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Promote products and technologies represented by the company to municipal and industrial end users, consulting engineers and general contractors
- Travel within your territory to meet engineers, consultants and facility personnel one-on-one. Overnight travel may be required
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our products and services, and how they can benefit our customers
- Build relationships with key customers to build long-term business prospects
- Manage and track sales and project progress in CRM software
- Support customers after initial sales to ensure satisfaction and realize opportunities for further sales
- Represent the company at national and regional events and trade shows Overnight travel will be required
- Provide regular updates on sales performance and market conditions
- Learn and understand Municipal Water and Wastewater industry models to better develop and execute sales plans to meet performance expectations and requirements
- Proactively work with manufacturers on projects, and to resolve technical issues while working with the end user
- Assist the team to develop a coordinated sales effort while keeping management informed of market conditions
- Obtain ongoing training in both the functional and technical skills for the manufacturer’s product and technology
- Develop specifications and proposals for capital projects and present to end users, consulting engineers and general contractors
- Assist in take-offs, configuration, pricing and written quotations for Capital Project Sales to contractors and direct sales to end users
- Assist in oversight of product technical documentation post-sale including review of technical content of shop drawing submittals and problem resolution
- Ensure smooth project transitions to project management teams, fostering long-term customer relationships
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment during and after start-up and commissioning
- Other Duties as assigned by Management
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Strong presentation and persuasive skills
- Proficiency in CRM software
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Computer Efficiency with Microsoft Office 360
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 5 years outside sales experience or similar sales experience
- Ability to travel in the Iowa and Nebraska sales market area
- Overnight travel as needed
