We are seeking a hands-on Designer / Engineer to support the design and execution of custom pumping systems and skid packages. This role bridges engineering and manufacturing — ideal for someone who understands how things are actually built, not just drawn.
You’ll work closely with sales, project management, and fabrication to develop practical, buildable designs that meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Designer / Engineer to support the design and execution of custom pumping systems and skid packages. This role bridges engineering and manufacturing — ideal for someone who understands how things are actually built, not just drawn.
You’ll work closely with sales, project management, and fabrication to develop practical, buildable designs that meet customer specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities of the Designer / Engineer include but are not limited to:
- Design pump skids, piping layouts, and equipment assemblies
- Develop 3D models and fabrication drawings (layouts, spool drawings, BOMs)
- Size and select pumps, valves, and system components
- Interpret customer specifications, P&IDs, and contract documents
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes (NFPA, NSF, ASME, etc.)
- Coordinate with fabrication team to ensure designs are manufacturable
- Support project execution from concept through production
- Assist with troubleshooting and design improvements
- Review submittals and prepare documentation packages
- 2–8 years of experience in mechanical design, piping, or pump systems (a plus)
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Inventor(a plus), SolidWorks, or similar)
- Experience with piping systems, pumps, or skid-based equipment
- Strong understanding of fabrication methods (welding, machining, assembly)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience with fire pump systems (NFPA 20)
- Knowledge of hydraulics and fluid systems
- Experience generating P&IDs
- Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM structures
- Experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Practical, solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to balance engineering theory with real-world constraints
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of project deadlines
- Good communication across engineering, shop, and customers
