What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers & Laborers, Crop, Nursery, Greenhouse position at DXL11 Nursery?
Nursery employees are responsible for the care and nurture of our plants, flowers, trees, shrubs on site. They are responsible for daily care to ensure the best products for our clients. Some employees may be required to lift or transport plants throughout the nursery. Lifting, bending, carrying, walking and will be required to be outside for hours at a time. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc, be able to handle working in high humidity, clean work areas, feel plants/crops leaves and note coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease, haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil, load and unload materials and commodities, maintain inventory, set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment, tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops, use hand tools such as such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives, use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools, weigh containers and record weights and identifying information, work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: box sorting equipment, dirt moving equipment, irrigation equipment, mowers and other landscaping equipment, packaging equipment, planters, sprayers. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: nursery plants, shrubs, sod, trees.
