Heavy Equipment Operator (Heavy Civil Construction)
Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our growing team. This role is responsible for safely operating heavy machinery on civil construction sites, including excavators, loaders, dozers, and site dump trucks. The ideal candidate has strong experience in site work, grading, and utility installation support.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, and site dump trucks
- Perform grading, trenching, and material movement for site development and utility work
- Support pipe crews with excavation, backfill, and precise grading
- Read and follow grade stakes, plans, and site instructions
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Work closely with supervisors and ground crews to complete projects safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times
What You Need:
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in heavy civil or site construction
- Strong skills with one or more: excavators, loaders, dozers, or haul trucks
- Ability to read site plans and understand grade/finish work
- Knowledge of trenching and excavation safety practices
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Work Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites
- Ability to work full days in varying weather conditions (heat/cold)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working on active construction sites
This is not a forklift operating position
