Executive Summary
As the Director of Accounting & Finance, you will serve as the CFO’s primary deputy,
overseeing the financial integrity and strategic fiscal management of our real estate
investment platform. You will lead a high-performing team of senior professionals to
institutionalize our financial reporting, optimize fund accounting, and drive the
analytical rigor necessary for sophisticated investment decision-making. This is a
leadership role that balances technical oversight of GAAP compliance with the strategic
vision required to scale a growing investment portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
- Process Transformation: Lead the optimization of third-party accounting
services to streamline reporting.
- Executive Partnership: Collaborate with the CFO and Investment professionals
to provide actionable insights on fund performance, liquidity, and capital
allocation.
- Capital Markets Support: Assist in the financial structuring of new acquisitions,
dispositions, and debt refinancings.
2. Fund & Corporate Accounting
- Financial Integrity: Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and annual financial
close process for the management company and specific investment vehicles
- Audit & Compliance: Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring
timely delivery of audited financial statements.
- Technical Accounting: Act as the internal expert on complex real estate
accounting issues, including fair value reporting, consolidation, and
promote/carried interest calculations.
- Tax: Liaise with tax consultants to provide accurate inputs for completion of
Federal, State, and Local tax returns and ensure timely delivery of investor K-1s.
3. FP&A & Investor Reporting
- Performance Analytics: Direct the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
process, providing variance analysis that informs operational adjustments.
- Investor Relations: Review and approve quarterly investor letters and
distribution notices, ensuring 100% accuracy in IRR and equity multiple reporting.
- Cash Management: Oversee treasury functions, including capital calls,
distributions, and credit facility management.
4. Team Development & Management
- Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and elevate a team of technical staff, fostering a
culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Resource Allocation: Manage the department’s workflow to ensure high-stakes
deadlines (e.g., investor meetings, transaction deadlines, SEC filings) are met
without compromising quality.

Qualifications & Competencies
Category - Requirement
Education - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA highly
preferred
Experience - 12 years in real estate accounting/finance, with at least 5 years in a
leadership role
Technical Skills - Expert-level Excel modeling; strong knowledge of Sage Intacct
preferred; fluency with Google Suite and LLMs
Industry Knowledge - Deep understanding of NCREIF/PREA reporting standards and waterfall
distributions
