Job Description:
- Design, build, and iterate software prototypes that bring new ideas to life for Microsoft engineering, research, and business groups.
- Work closely with Garage Program Managers to understand project goals, success criteria, and technical constraints.
- Develop clean, maintainable, and scalable code using modern frameworks and tools aligned to Microsoft technology stacks.
- Collaborate with Lab Managers to scope technical feasibility, define architecture, and identify risks early in the project cycle.
- Participate in design discussions, project reviews, and technical explorations with internal and Microsoft stakeholders.
- Build proof-of-concepts rapidly while maintaining high technical quality and documentation standards.
- Support Garage hackathon initiatives, workshops, and learning programs through technical mentorship and prototype development.
- Ensure proper source control, security, and compliance practices are followed as defined by Microsoft policies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Garage engineering practices, tooling, and development workflows.
- 5 years of experience in software development.
- Strong proficiency in one or more of the following: C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or similar modern frameworks.
- Experience building prototypes, MVPs, or product features in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to translate ambiguous ideas into technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with designers, PMs, and engineers
