Job Summary
The Commercial Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of roofing materials, equipment, and supplies between the warehouse, vendors, and job sites. This role supports field operations by ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining accurate inventory handling, and upholding all DOT regulations and company safety standards. The driver also assists with warehouse organization and general shop operations to help maintain a productive and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver materials to job sites on time.
- Pick up and transport materials, equipment, and supplies between vendors, warehouse, and job sites.
- Load and unload materials; assist crews with handling and site cleanup.
- Follow delivery schedules to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any issues.
- Comply with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety requirements.
- Receive, verify, and organize incoming materials and inventory.
- Assist with warehouse, shop, and yard operations as needed.
Qualifications
- 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred (flatbed/material delivery a plus); valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read instructions and communicate effectively.
- Basic math skills to verify quantities, measurements, and order accuracy.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete routine tasks.
- Basic computer skills (email, mobile devices for communication and documentation).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Ability to work in a warehouse/shop environment and outdoors at job sites
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, shop, or construction environment
- Prior delivery driving experience
- Familiarity with inventory or material handling processes
