Our comprehensive selection of reels includes spring retractable, hand crank and motorized hose, cord, and cable reels. We are a worldwide leader in the reel industry and have been serving customers in residential, commercial, and industrial settings since 1923. Our engineering capabilities and manufacturing processes allow us to design and build top quality products for any conceivable application where reels are needed. We manufacture in Tempe, AZ from flat sheet steel and process in-house through assembly. Our manufacturing plant is world class, clean and continuously improving.

We are looking for a new member of our Production team who is looking for a stable and productive work environment, with emphasis on long term employment. The role will supervise the assembly teams. The ideal candidate will understand cause and effect with a continuous improvement mindset and desire to build a strong functional team supporting Operations. The position requires someone who can multi-task and a good communicator at all levels in and outside the organization. The Supervisor will report to the Production Manager.

·        Able to communicate in Spanish.(nice to have)

·        Able to read assembly drawings.

·        Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Assembly Supervisor will supervise Assembly and Subassembly teams, for a total of 40 employees.
  • Will make sure that the production floor will be 5S Compliant, processes are followed.
  • Will reinforce the 10 Coxreels Production System principles (CPS).
  • Will conduct safety training.
  • Will keep a good working environment.
  • Will ensure availability of tools and equipment for each line and cell.
  • Will use as much as possible visual tools to communicate efficiently with the team.
  • Will make sure the performance of the team in term of Safety, Quality and Productivity is aligned with the Company expectations.
  • Will lead and work in close contact with the Assembly Lead and Kitting Lead to assure a correct material flow.
  • Will develop excellent relationship with Shipping, other Supervisors and Managers in order to maintain a regular and consistent flow of components and finished goods.

·        Will recommend and implement improvement activities regarding safety, quality and production.

·        Will assume other responsibilities as assigned

 

 

MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE

The Assembly Supervisor is deemed to be performing in a satisfactory manner when the following is accomplished:

  • All assemblies are taking place on time and in accordance with the schedule.

·        Safety, quality, and performance metrics show continuous improvement.

  • Our customers are happy about our performance.
  • Working environment is very positive.
  • Objectives for CPS Principles of Manufacturing Excellence are being met.


REQUIREMENTS

·        At least three years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment required

·        Previous Supervisory Experience

  • High School diploma

While performing the duties of this job, the Assembly Supervisor is regularly required to move throughout the facility, traverse within production areas, communicate with others, and detect or exchange information or ideas. Appropriate safety equipment is required by area/job. A considerable amount of moving from department to department may occur in unfavorable weather conditions.

 

The Assembly Supervisor position is very active and constantly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stand, sit, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl; perform functions which require the manual operation of both general office productivity and manufacturing equipment including power tools and lifts. The position is regularly required to lift/and or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close inspection, identification of objects from a distance, color determination, peripheral detection, depth judgment, and the ability to identify details in varying conditions.

$75-80k a year plus discretionary bonus

Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
