Floral & Décor Sales Manager, Duvall Events

Position: Staff, Non-exempt

Salary Range: $23 per hour or $47,840 annual salary

Duvall Events is a full-service hospitality company specializing in catering, bar, floral and décor. Additional off-site contracts include catering and venue management.

Position Description: The Floral & Décor Sales Manager position nurtures relationships to produce sales. This position is responsible for managing the sales process and translating all elements of a client vision into an operational contract with full payment.

Job Duties:

• Interpret and translate the visions of diverse clients from initial inquiry stage to on-site

production - including corporate, social and wedding events

• Sell, plan and manage all aspects of event contracts with communication to all of Duvall

operational departments and outside vendors; possess attention to detail

• Manage all aspects of the sales process including event inquiries & meetings, proposals and

contracts, design board creation, diagram creation, rental and floral orders, payment

processing, and sales materials

• Build and maintain relationships with clients (planners, businesses, families) and other event

industry leaders

• Achieve thorough Duvall product knowledge: catering, bar, floral, décor, equipment and

staffing

• Attend client meetings and events; weekend hours required in busy seasons

• Work set-up and breakdown of event – installing draping, lighting, floral, furniture and any

other necessary design elements; work promptly and efficiently

• Become proficient in Caterease, Social Tables, Microsoft Office Suite and Duvall Social Media

• Assist in monthly staff scheduling based on specific event needs

• Ability to thrive in an individual and team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Floral product knowledge

• Experience in floral design, processing, and production

• Experience in event draping and/or lighting installations

Essential Qualifications: The successful candidate should be personable, possess great organizational

and planning skills and have a creative vision with the ability to be flexible.

• A strong passion for sales and event design

• A minimum of two years of experience in the event industry• A bachelor’s degree in a related field

• Ability to work under pressure

• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary

• Experience in working with sales systems

• The ability to be a part of a diverse and service-oriented team

• The ability to work independently

• Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and

the ability to create letters and other written materials and to proofread his/her own work

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working

relationships

• Valid driver’s license and vehicle access

• Ability to lift 30 pounds

• Must be able to climb assorted sized ladders

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

• Capable of operating company vehicles (trucks, vans, etc)
