What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Liaison (School Health/Vision Screening Services) position at Duval County Public Schools?
Job Summary:
Conducts vision and hearing screenings throughout the district to identify potential barriers to student achievement and ensure that all students have access to instruction while connecting families with outside resources if needed
Essential Functions:
- Conduct vision and hearing screenings using standardized testing procedures and equipment.
- Record and interpret screening results accurately.
- Enter screening results into the district student information system (SIS).
- Provide clean and concise feedback to individuals and/or their guardians regarding screening outcomes.
- Maintain screening equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain detailed records of all screenings conducted and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with school personnel to coordinate screening schedules.
- Travel to Duval County schools to complete state-mandated vision and hearing screenings.
- Train volunteers and school staff on how to complete the vision screening.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience: Experience working with community groups preferred.
