Job Summary
Assists ESOL Supervisor in planning, development, support, and coordination of ESOL programs focused on student academic achievement and professional development for educators. Promotes effective and timely communication with teachers and school administrators.
Essential Functions
Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five (5) years teaching experience with background in planning, organizing, and conducting in-service training/professional growth activities. Exceptionally skilled in writing, with experience in developing multi-media presentations and communication dissemination. Mastery of at least two (2) world languages, Spanish and French preferred.
Certifications & Licenses: Florida Department of Education Certification in ESOL K-12
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Essential Functions
- Assists in district-wide implementation of standards-based instruction by coaching, training, and supporting teachers.
- Supports deeper understanding of Common Core State Standards (CORE) and Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS) and how to connect the standards with instruction and student work.
- Provides curriculum expertise to deepen teacher content knowledge.
- Identifies examples of best practices, delivery of effective research-based instructional strategies, assessment of student learning, and classroom management that improve teaching and learning.
- Facilitates collection, analysis, and use of varied data to identify student learning needs, plan professional development, and assess outcomes.
- Participates in Team Instructional Site Reviews.
- Participates actively in all ESOL events and cultural celebrations.
- Contributes to ESOL Parent Program.
- Works cooperatively with ESOL Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
- Develops teachers' ability to integrate technology into classroom instruction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
