Pre K Assistant Teacher

Position Description

Serving approximately 170 students in pre-kindergarten through the eighth-grade, Dutchess Day School is seeking an experienced full-time PK-4 Teaching Assistant for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. This position will begin in January of 2026. The ideal candidate will support all aspects of a PK-4 classroom for eleven students. A Lead teacher will plan and lead the curricular and social aspects of the class’s education, but it is vital to have an assistant who is proactive and responsible.

Candidates should have 3-5 years of classroom experience and a deep understanding of the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of primary/elementary school students. A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, and is motivated to work collaboratively within a robust teaching team.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Pay: $25,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
