Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Pipe Crew Hillman/Tailman to join our underground utility construction team. In this vital role, you will assist the pipe crew by supporting the proper handling, positioning, and alignment of pipes and materials essential for underground utility projects. Responsibilities
- Align and position underground utilities accurately.
- Lay and cut pipe to required lengths and make appropriate cutting connections.
- Assist and support with lifting and laying of water, sewer, storm pipes and construction structures.
- Assist and support of installation and repair manholes, storm, sewer systems, vaults, and catch basins.
- Prepare materials for installation of underground utilities.
- Rig underground utility pipes and materials for lifting and placement of pipes and other construction structures.
- Measure, mark, and cut pipe as assigned.
- Ensure proper housekeeping of site.
- Organize and maintain small tools.
- Effectively operate small tools.
- Complete general construction tasks.
- Dig, level, and transfer dirt.
Requirements
- Prior experience in construction site work, particularly with underground utility or pipeline projects.
- Knowledge of drainage, storm, sewer systems, manholes, and catch basins.
- Ability to lift and carry upwards of 50lbs as needed.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, excavator use, forklift handling, and front loader trucks.
- Ability to endure working outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety awareness.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
