Operational Psychologist

Position Summary
DURO Health is seeking a highly skilled Operational Psychologist to support the
Guardian Angel Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) Program with the 57th
Rescue Squadron. The provider will deliver expert behavioral science consultation to
enhance mental readiness, optimize performance, and accelerate recovery for Combat
Rescue Officers (CRO) and Pararescue (PJ) operators. This role is embedded within
the unit and supports the sustainment of the human weapon system through advanced
psychological assessment, performance enhancement strategies, and reintegration
programming.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert in behavioral health, injury prevention, and
mental performance optimization, supporting operators across training, mission,
and recovery cycles.
Conduct and interpret a full spectrum of psychological assessments; provide
readiness evaluations and suitability recommendations to leadership.
Develop and lead evidence-based resiliency, reintegration, and prevention
programs tailored to Guardian Angel Operator demands.
Provide individual consultation and short-term intervention, and manage referrals
for behavioral healthcare.
Support operational decision-making through performance data collection,
analysis, and reporting (monthly, cycle-based, and deployment-linked).
Collaborate with unit command, medical staff, and community agencies to ensure
seamless access to care.
Deliver training and professional development to leadership and operators on
mental skills, risk factors, and performance enhancement.
Execute required documentation in designated DoD medical and readiness
systems (AHLTA/Genesis).
Maintain credentials and participate in required training, conferences, and
continuing education.
Safeguard classified and sensitive information; comply with base access, IT,
HIPAA, and FOIA security guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Doctorate (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-
accredited program and internship
Valid and unrestricted license to practice psychology in a U.S. state or territory
Minimum 2 years of independent post-doctoral clinical experience within the past
5 years
Demonstrated experience treating:
o PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders
o Substance misuse and family systems concerns
o Crisis management and trauma-informed care
Experience working with high-performance populations (SOF, NCAA, or
professional athletes)
Training in critical incident and stress trauma interventions
Ability and willingness to obtain SERE training if not already completed
Ability to deploy OCONUS/TDY for up to 30 days annually
Additional Requirements
Eligible for flight line access and DoD network credentials
Ability to pass background investigations
Comfortable working in an operational unit environment with high-tempo
demands
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to earn and maintain trust with elite tactical
populations
Travel Obligations
Approximately 3 weeks of travel per year
Local travel is included in standard duties
Continuing education support provided as required to maintain credentials
