Durkin & Heritage Fuel is a family-owned business that provides top quality installation and service for all fuel oil systems. As our fuel oil division continues to grow, we are actively searching for a dedicated professional to join our team and grow with us. We are looking for a positive, self-motivated, experienced oil service technician. Located in Brewster, New York, Durkin’s covers ground in two states and five counties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation of various sized oil tanks, fuel lines at commercial and residential locations while meeting all local and state code requirements
- Install and or repair heating systems and other components.
- Perform safety checks on Oil tanks and equipment to ensure company and government safety regulations are met
- Have a basic understanding of electricity and the mechanical ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair oil fired appliances
- Held accountable to maintain a clean and tidy service truck, while reporting any equipment problems or issues to appointed personnel
- Maintain a fully stocked service truck with required parts and tools to and accommodate all job needs
Requirements:
- Problem solve, work on your-own and be able to work well with others without supervision
- Possess excellent communication skills to convey important information to customers & management
- Maintain a professional image while delivering outstanding customer service
- Willingness to work inside/outside in all weather conditions
- Work a flexible one-week on-call rotation schedule, once a month for after-hour emergency calls
Minimum Education:
· High School diploma, GED or equivalent training and experience
· 3 years in the oil/plumbing or HVAC industry experience
· Basic understanding of heating system operations preferred.
