Position Overview
The Construction Machine Operator will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to support excavation, grading, hauling, and other construction activities. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and experienced with a variety of construction equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate machinery such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, and other heavy equipment
- Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance
- Follow project plans, layouts, and instructions from supervisors
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company, OSHA, and site regulations
- Assist with site preparation, material movement, and other construction tasks as needed
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage and any incidents or repairs
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating construction machinery (2 years preferred)
- Valid equipment operator certification and relevant licenses
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and equipment operation protocols
- Ability to read site plans and follow direction
- Physically fit for labor-intensive tasks and outdoor work
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
Preferred Skills
- Experience in roadwork, utility installation, or site development
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
