DEPARTMENT: Library DATE POSTED : August 19, 2025 CLOSING DATE : August 25, 2025 HIRING RANGE: $20.18 – $20.65 POSITION NUMBER: 40006034 JOB TYPE: Part-Time, 19.88 hrs/week Non-Exempt THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR PRO-RATED BENEFITS GENERAL DESCRIPTION Performs difficult clerical and routine paraprofessional work assisting in the delivery of library services; performs related work as assigned. The position is based at the North Regional Library, but the selected candidate could be asked to work at other library locations. Work is performed under the supervision of the Adult Services Manager. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support functions of the North Regional Adult Services unit by answering reference and directional questions; Assist customers in the use of library technology such as public computers, printers, and copiers; Perform circulation functions such as pulling holds and registering new library borrowers. Assist in planning and executing programs for adults based on the needs of the community and the directions of the Adult Services Manager. May also work on special projects that support the library\’s strategic plan. Serve on teams and committees as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of current and emerging technologies coupled with a working knowledge of both library computer systems and electronic resources and databases Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills Ability to provide excellent customer service via phone, online chat, email and in-person Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate\’s degree in library science or a related field and six months in general library experience.
