Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Dishwasher/server to join our kitchen team here at Durgin Pines. We are a rehab/ long term care facility. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in our kitchen, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. We would prefer someone who is comfortable with helping bring food to residents tables to help with dietary aide work. This position is essential to the smooth operation of our food service environment, contributing to the overall success of our culinary team. Serving the dining room as needed as well.
Friday: 6am-2:30 and a few 3:30-7:30pm shifts a week
Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently to ensure all dishes, glassware, and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing pots, pans, and cooking equipment as needed.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the culinary team, including basic food handling and bussing duties.
- Help bring out meals to residents
- Ensure that all kitchen supplies are stocked and organized for optimal workflow.
- Follow health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation practices.
- Support the kitchen staff during peak hours by assisting with additional tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a culinary or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and sanitation standards is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with a focus on collaboration within the hospitality sector.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic kitchen setting.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights as necessary for kitchen operations.
