What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Coordinator - 1st Shift position at Durcon?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Slab pallet material movement between FAB, north dock and the warehouse
- Maintain machining line dumpsters
- Documenting slab orders, using pull sheets and STATUS
- Operate wrapping machine and enter weights and dimensions into computer
- Coordinate movement of pallets between finishing line, WIP racks and warehouse
- Raw material movement from warehouse to the Fabrication and Casting departments
- Crate international orders in a timely manner
Loading Trucks
- Load trucks in a timely manner
- Understand and adhere to loading priority, obtaining instruction form Shipping Coordinator
- Meet customer requirements
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Select the correct packing materials such as skids, paper, corner boards, license plate
- Inspect each piece for dimensional and visual quality before packing
- Organizing and maintaining slab inventory area, including non-conforming product
- Provide back-up coverage for other coordinators during peak season and as needed
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to demonstrate comprehension of positional work instructions
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to operate stand up or sit down fork truck and become certified
- Ability to use power tools including drill motor, nail gun, various hand saws, etc.
- Willingness to move and assist others to support all team members and company objective
- Able to work overtime including weekends
- Measure by weight using scales and basic math
- Ability to perform basic computer operations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform assisted push/pull up to 500 lbs. over a roller table or conveyor line
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach overhead repetitively during an 8 to 10-hour day
- Able to stand for minimum of 8 hours
