Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and retain coaching staff
- Manage day-to-day team operations and communication
- Attend monthly DWSC Board meetings (2nd Wednesday, 6:30–8:30 PM)
- Organize and host a season-end coach appreciation event
Athlete Development & Coaching
- Oversee and participate in on-snow coaching sessions
- Coordinate and coach at IFSA Junior events (primarily CO & NM)
- Manage competition logistics, athlete registrations, and team entries
- Encourage professional development among staff (e.g., IFSA, USSS, PSIA, Avy certifications)
Event & Program Planning
- Plan and participate in Fall dryland training (shared effort with other DWSC teams)
- Organize Fall pre-season trip to Woodward and A-Basin (3 days, Nov.)
- Coordinate and run the annual “Holiday Camp” (Dec., 2–3 days)
- Plan and manage the “Hollywood Huckfest” team event (late March)
- Coordinate “Silverton Day” and “Wolf Creek Day” training outings
- Host or collaborate on avalanche awareness clinics for athletes
Communication & Outreach
- Maintain weekly team communication via SportsEngine
- Attend recruitment events (1–2 in Fall)
- Collaborate with other team directors on scheduling and shared events
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regional ski clubs and resorts
Team Logistics & Operations
- Maintain and manage team equipment (cameras, radios, gates, van, etc.)
- Oversee the building/maintenance of jumps and terrain features
- Coordinate terrain feature work with Ski Patrol
- Help maintain cleanliness and order in the team shack
- Design and manage sales of team merchandise, stickers, and swag
Preferred Qualifications We’re looking for someone who brings experience, passion, and leadership. Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong background in Freeride skiing and competition
- Avalanche education (Avy Level 2 preferred)
- Certification(s) from one or more: IFSA, USSS, PSIA
- Coaching experience and athlete development knowledge
- Excellent organizational and communication skills

Base Pay: $20,000.00 - $28,000.00 per year
