Job Description: THE POLAR EXPRESS™ is a licensed event through Rail Events Inc. and Warner Brothers Studios. It is a theatrical show based on the movie THE POLAR EXPRESS™ that takes place on a moving train. The POLAR EXPRESS™ Chef provides the primary source of entertainment for our guests; welcoming passengers aboard, leading Christmas carols, playing various characters and serving as the guide throughout the The POLAR EXPRESS™. Chefs aboard train are responsible for the entertainment of guests for a 55 minute show performing 3 shows per night over the course of 34 nights. You will be the face of the show for each train car, working in pairs to entertain 24-42 people and tell the story of THE POLAR EXPRESS™. Must be high energy and have the ability to perform multiple shows per night. Chefs may also be required to fill other roles such as Elf or Hot Chocolate help on occasion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Entertain 24-42 Guests per show, 2-3 shows per night
- Safely board and de-board guests
- Clean and inventory props
Job Requirements:
- Outgoing, friendly, and engaging personality
- Experience in acting or dancing strongly preferred
- Must be able to talk to crowds of 50 or less
- Ability to sing and lead carols
- Able to maintain high energy through 3 performances over 4 hours
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
Work Environment:
- Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required
- Flexible availability from November 1, 2023- December 31, 2023
- Able to work in cold, snowy and otherwise inclement winter weather
- Work in uneven or unsteady spaces, onboard a moving train
