26/27 Head Girls' Basketball Coach, Durango High School

Durango School District is accepting applications or a Head Girls' Basketball Coach to join the team in the 2026/2027 school year at Durango High School. The season runs mid November to mid March. Position begins June 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for all aspects of the Girls' Basketball Program at Durango High School, to include but not limited to the following:

• supervision, mentoring, and assisting in the evaluation of assistant coaches
• administration of budget
• team supervision and discipline
• care and inventory of uniforms and equipment
• care of facilities
• effective communication with school administration, players and parents
• involvement with middle school and community based programs
• fundraising
• practice and competition planning
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid CHSAA Certification, or Colorado Teaching Certificate/License
• Fundamental knowledge of basketball
• Experience working with related school aged athletes/students
• Ability to work as an integral part of the coaching staff
• Current medical injury treatment course work
