26/27 Assistant Girls Basketball Coach, Escalante Middle School

Durango School District is accepting applications for Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at Escalante Middle School. This coaching position involves instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of basketball. The season runs December 2026 - February 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

• Plan and organize practices
• Instruct players on techniques to develop fundamental skills
• Provide feedback to help players improve
• Encourage and support good teamwork and sportsmanship
• Assist head coach in other duties
• Communicate with players, coaches, parents, AD and admin
• Possess fundamental knowledge of basketball
• Experience coaching school-aged athletes
• CPR/AED certified, or ability to get certified
