SUMMARY: Funded through Title VI EASIE grant, the Cultural and Student Resource Support Professional works with the TItle VI Program Manager, school-based administration and staff, students and families to align with meeting annual program objectives. With cultural knowledge and competency, the Cultural and Student Resource Support Professional works directly with the Title VI program and school staff to ensure a safe, welcoming, and individually responsive educational environment that promotes student academic success and cultural identity.

The Title VI Student Resource Support Professional will play a key role with:
- Monitoring Student attendance and academic progress
- Communicating educational, social-emotional and other needs
- Planning and implementation of activities that increase knowledge of cultural identity and awareness (Native American Club/Crew, culturally relevant field trips, special events/ guests)
- Support parent and family involvement and increase linkage to resources
- Support school-based sites with implementing curriculum and PD activities

The ideal candidate will:
- Have knowledge of Title VI and Native American education programs
- Have experience working with diverse learners from indigenous families
- Exhibit passion for creating equitable and culturally inclusive environments
- Have demonstrated evidence of the ability to work with district administrators, diverse staff and outside stakeholders
- Have the capacity to view the organization through a variety of lenses and help shape systems and processes
- Utilize district database systems and facilitate conversations utilizing student attendance and performance data
- Integrate student data to identify strengths and areas for improvement
- Be able to plan and deliver professional development to staff that reflects the needs of the staff and students

Specific Responsibilities:
- Assists the school-based teams (administrators and staff) with implementing Title VI program goals, such as:
- Developing a schedule that ensures regular in-person participation at district school sites based on number of eligible Title VI student populations
- Monitoring student attendance and developing responsive strategies to ensure student access and participation, including outreach and linkage for families based on needs (eg: transportation, after care)
- Monitor student academic progress and support the school and family with strategies for increasing student success, including outreach and linkage for families based on needs (eg: tutoring, referrals)
- Provide consistent communication to families and school staff about Title VI programming, student needs, access to community resources
- Work directly with students, families and schools to increase student engagement and achievement
- Increase knowledge of cultural identity and awareness by supporting culturally-responsive professional development across the district
- Support the planning and implementation of monthly or bi-monthly Native American Club/Crew meetings at all DSD school sites
- Help plan and implement culturally relevant field trips/ presenters
- Assists the TItle VI Program Manager with implementation of program goals, such as:

- Attending all Title VI meetings and community events
- Participating in weekly 1:1 check-ins to monitor student/ program needs
- Identifying and developing PD for district staff
- Supporting the implementation of indigenous curriculum
- Building strong relationships with Native American Parent Advisory Committee (NAPAC) members
- Actively engaging with community stakeholders to seek out information, programs and additional resources to better support Title VI students and families (eg: La Plata Youth, The Hive, B&G Club)
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE: Experience working with diverse students, experience working with Native American/ Indigenous youth
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Ability to travel to locations within the county and to various school locations to perform essential duties.
