Driver Helper – Coca-Cola of Durango- Durango/Farmington area
Reports To: Driver Supervisor

Overview:

In this role, you will work closely with our Drivers and be responsible for assisting with the delivery and merchandising of Coca-Cola products, helping to ensure excellent service to our customers.

The Driver Assistant is responsible for delivery of products, unloading products from truck, checking in product with account, merchandising, and rotating product at assigned customers. Assist the vehicle operator in a safe and courteous manner and work safely without injury to self or others.  Durango Coca-Cola is more than transporting goods — it’s about representing our company and the Coca-Cola brand with professionalism, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting sales growth through reliable service.

Major Responsibilities:
Delivery & Product Handling

•  Drive with the driver that you are assigned with daily to customer locations on daily routes, delivering to all stores safely and efficiently.
•  Verify orders and invoices with customers.
•  Unload merchandise, rotate products, and build displays according to company standards.
•  Maintain back rooms by organizing and consolidating stock in a safe, accessible manner.

Customer Service & Communication:

•  Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong customer relationships with store receivers
•  Build rapport and trust with backroom personnel in each store by actively listening, responding, and addressing customer needs
•  Communicate with supervisors regarding any daily route support needed

Safety / Physical Requirements – this position is considered Safety-Sensitive:

•  Enforce all company safety policies and procedures and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
•  Highly active role requiring constant standing, walking, pushing, and pulling.
•  Lift and carry up to 60 lbs. repetitively; reach and lift above shoulders and below waist.
•  Operate electric pallet jacks and maneuver pallets weighing up to 1,200 lbs.
•  Push/pull fully loaded carts weighing up to 1,000 lbs. on slopes up to 20%.
•  Perform frequent twisting, grasping, reaching, bending, and kneeling
•  Pre-pare to help in varied weather environments (sun, rain, snow, heat, cold).
•  Actively support safety of company vehicles and CDL drivers by performing necessary safety measures including but not limited to spotting the vehicle while backing.  (Get Out and Look – GOAL)

Additional:

•  Work hours: 4 days a week, 10 hours per day, average 45-hour work week, start times may vary based on delivery route.

            o    Bulk loads: 4:00am until route completion

            o    Side loads: 7:00am until route completion

•  Weekend and holiday work as directed by business needs.
•  Work to obtain Class A CDL within first 2 years.
•  When obtained your CDL you will be required sometimes to back fill drivers when needed by the Driver Supervisor

Experience & Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• No major traffic violations and no more than 2 minor violations in the past 3 years.
• Reliable team player with consistent attendance.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage a field-based schedule with minimal supervision.
• Must maintain professional appearance to uphold Durango Coca-Cola’s dress code policy
