Job Title: Systems Technician
Shift: Dayshift (6am-2:00pm) Duty Rotation
Department: Maintenance
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
Primary function is to operate and maintain equipment which provides the plant with various air, water, combustible, vacuum, and other fluid systems in order to directly support plant operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Organize and prioritize operations of plant systems, including continuous re-evaluation of priorities and elevation of high-impact issues to the foreman level.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, clean lube, and inspect equipment.
- Use typical mechanic’s tools and inspection gauges.
- Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of industrial compressors, air dryers, vacuum pumps, liquid pumps, and other equipment supporting plant operations - including research, prep, and cleanup.
- Accurately document and communicate services rendered using manual and computerized methods.
- Identify the need for and participate in training to improve skills as well as provide training.
- Continuously identify opportunities for improved operations, including spare parts management, utility consumption, and skill gaps.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems, involving work of a varied nature with a minimum of supervision.
- Operate equipment to assure satisfactory performance.
- Keep equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Able to diagnose broken down or abnormally functioning equipment of many manufacturers and models.
- Able to safely handle and operate all equipment in the shop.
- Able to safely store and handle heavy oils and other fluids used during maintenance and repair.
- Able to use computers efficiently, including Google Workspace.
- Able to observe and abide by company policies.
- Excellent Mechanical and Electronic skills.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- 1-3 years prior maintenance and mechanical experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, push up to 50 lbs, pull and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work in elevated temperatures
