SUMMARY

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading all warehouse operations supporting manufacturing, including receiving, storage, inventory control, material handling, production support, and shipping activities. This role drives operational performance, inventory accuracy, workflow efficiency, employee development, and compliance with company policies and safety standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong problem-solving abilities, sound operational judgment, and the ability to manage warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment.

  • Warehouse Operations Management
    • Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping operations.
    • Ensure timely and accurate execution of outbound shipments based on operational priorities.
    • Monitor workflow, labor allocation, and operational efficiency to meet performance targets.
    • Maintain compliance with warehouse procedures, operational standards, and material handling best practices.
    • Ensure timely material flow to support production schedules and minimize manufacturing downtime.
  • Shipping & Receiving Execution
    • Manage daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and schedule adherence.
    • Troubleshoot operational challenges including load discrepancies, incomplete picks, and documentation issues.
    • Collaborate with internal shipping teams and carriers to resolve execution issues.
    • Ensure compliance with shipping requirements, documentation standards, and customer specifications.
  • Material Flow & Space Utilization
    • Monitor warehouse layout, staging areas, and storage practices to maintain operational efficiency.
    • Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve workflow and throughput.
    • Support initiatives related to space utilization, organization, and operational improvements.
    • Conduct and oversee cycle count audits to ensure inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
    • Monitor inventory accuracy and partner with Inventory Control to resolve variances and maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Team Leadership & Workforce Management
    • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse personnel to achieve productivity, accuracy, and safety objectives.
    • Communicate expectations clearly and provide ongoing performance feedback.
    • Promote accountability, teamwork, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
    • Support training, workforce development, and operational discipline.
    • Conduct and lead monthly employee meetings to communicate operational updates, reinforce expectations, and promote team engagement.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, address employee performance issues, and participate in hiring, disciplinary actions, and workforce planning.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Enforce compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
    • Promote a strong safety culture through observation, coaching, and corrective action.
    • Ensure proper use of warehouse equipment and adherence to safe material handling practices.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance workflow and productivity.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, inventory accuracy, warehouse layout, labor utilization, and cost reduction.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, and operating around forklifts and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to support multiple shifts and occasional weekend operations as business needs require.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Experience:
    • 7 years of progressive warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing logistics experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing supervisors and hourly employees.
    • Proven leadership experience managing large teams and multiple operational areas.
    • Demonstrated experience with SAP and warehouse management systems.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Leadership: Strong ability to inspire, manage, and develop high-performing teams.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
    • Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Adept at identifying issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing solutions.
    • Organization: Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure deadlines are met.
    • Flexibility & Reliability: Adaptable to changing priorities and committed to operational excellence.
    • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in SAP processes (SAP IM and WM), inventory management tools, and Microsoft Office.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Skilled in building relationships and fostering collaboration across teams.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • APICS Preferred
  • Six Sigma Certification preferred

Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
