Job Summary:
Durán Detail Auto Body LLC is seeking an experienced and professional Automotive Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge in automotive refinishing, color matching, paint preparation, and spray application techniques. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality finishes and can work efficiently in a fast-paced collision repair environment.
The ideal candidate must have experience using PPG paint systems and knowledge of Martin Auto Color products and refinishing procedures. Candidate must also be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicles and parts for paint by sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning surfaces
- Mix and match paint colors accurately using paint systems and mixing software
- Apply primer, basecoat, clearcoat, and specialty finishes using spray equipment
- Perform blending, color matching, and refinishing to manufacturer standards
- Inspect painted surfaces for quality, consistency, runs, imperfections, or defects
- Buff, polish, and finish painted vehicles when necessary
- Maintain paint booth, spray guns, and painting equipment properly
- Follow safety procedures regarding hazardous materials and paint products
- Work closely with body technicians and estimators to ensure repair quality
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Keep work area clean and organized
Requirements / Qualifications:
-Proven experience as an Automotive Painter
-Certification or formal training in automotive painting/refinishing required
-Experience with PPG automotive paint systems required
-Knowledge of Martin Auto Color products and procedures preferred
-Experience spraying waterborne paint systems
-Strong color matching and blending skills
-Knowledge of paint preparation and refinishing techniques
-Ability to use spray guns, sanding tools, polishers, and paint booth equipment safely
-Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
-Strong work ethic and attention to detail
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
-Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
- I-CAR or ASE refinishing certifications
- Experience in collision repair/body shop environments
- Experience with custom paint or high-end finishes
- Knowledge of paint correction and polishing techniques
