Job Summary: The Coating Machine Operator sets up, operates, or tends the machine that applies coating to roll materials such as plastic films, foils, papers, fabrics, and other miscellaneous materials by performing the following duties.


Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, or tend machines that apply wet coatings to plastic films, papers, foils and other miscellaneous materials according to specifications and instructions. Monitor equipment and perform product testing per procedure and compile results.
  • Verifies dimensions of specifications.
  • Visually monitor machine and processed materials.
  • Responsible for checking all information on production orders and completing quality checks on each job.
  • Perform machine adjustments and routine maintenance.
  • Must be able to prepare coating solutions per instructions.
  • Must be able to load and unload materials on and off coating machine.
  • Entering data into a computer.
  • Maintain daily log sheets.
  • Keep work area, machines, tools, and equipment clean in orderly condition.
  • Comply with safety program and company, rules, and procedures
  • Performs other routine duties.

Education and/or Experience:


High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills:


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, Ability to write simple correspondence.


Mathematical Skills:


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
