POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this
position is to support lab experiments and the day to day functioning of the
Lampe lab. This is a grant funded position.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct experiments in gene
cloning, basic microbiology, and protein expression in bacteria.
Ordering lab supplies.
Lab organization.
Support day to day function
of the lab.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Area of study in biology or equivalent.
Basic understanding of
microbiology and an undergraduate knowledge of lab work.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
from an accredited institution.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of
experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities
required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not
limited to, the following:
Ideally, basic DNA cloning
skills.
Basic microbiology.
Familiarity with western
blotting and ELISA.
Laboratory solution making.
Computer skills sufficient
to order reagents.
Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University
Community.
