The SCS Strategic Capacity Representative is responsible for designing and executing carrier network and capacity strategies that enable long-term contractual freight growth, enterprise customer scalability, and system-wide transportation performance across the Dupre network. This role is focused on building and optimizing carrier infrastructure and strategic capacity solutions, not the execution or management of individual transactional freight movements
Strategic Carrier Network Development
- Develop and execute carrier network strategies that support long-term contractual freight growth and capacity stability.
- Establish, evaluate, and expand relationships with high-performing and enterprise-level carrier partners across multiple modes and geographic markets.
- Identify opportunities to improve carrier network efficiency, service performance, lane density, and overall transportation coverage.
- Create scalable carrier solutions aligned with customer growth initiatives and long-term business objectives.
Contractual Freight & Strategic Sourcing
- Lead strategic carrier sourcing initiatives in support of contractual business opportunities, customer implementations, and RFP events.
- Analyze market trends, carrier capabilities, and network capacity to support pricing strategies and customer commitments.
- Evaluate and onboard carriers capable of supporting enterprise-level freight programs and dedicated capacity solutions.
- Collaborate with Carrier Success, Sales, and Operations teams to align carrier strategy with customer expectations and revenue growth initiatives.
Network Optimization & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Support network-wide capacity planning and carrier strategy across branches and business units.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to Carrier Managers related to sourcing strategy, carrier development, and negotiation best practices.
- Partner with leadership to identify operational efficiencies, carrier performance improvements, and network expansion opportunities.
- Monitor carrier performance metrics, service execution, and utilization trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skill, &/or Ability Required
- Minimum 4 years of brokerage, carrier management, logistics, or transportation operations experience required.
- Demonstrated success developing and managing strategic carrier networks with measurable financial and operational results.
- Experience supporting contractual freight, carrier procurement strategy, and scalable capacity solutions required.
- Proven ability to identify, onboard, negotiate, and grow enterprise-level carrier partnerships.
- Advanced negotiation, relationship management, and strategic sourcing skills required.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with sales, account management, and operations teams to support customer growth initiatives and RFP opportunities.
- Strong understanding of brokerage modes including TL, Flatbed, Refrigerated, LTL, Intermodal, and Specialty freight preferred.
- Ability to analyze carrier performance, capacity trends, and network optimization opportunities.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop carrier-facing team members preferred.
- Proficient in TMS platforms, carrier sourcing tools, and transportation analytics systems required.
