The Direct Form Operator is responsible for operating precision manufacturing equipment to produce high-performance components used in critical applications such as aerospace and transportation. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational discipline while working in a team-oriented, fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate press lines, sintering ovens, and tumbling equipment to meet production and quality requirements while maintaining local and corporate safety standards.
- Perform in-process inspections and accurately record part dimensions per quality plans and customer specifications
- Identify and troubleshoot nonconforming parts and support root cause resolution
- Maintain process control through adherence to standard work and inspection requirements
- Remove scrap material and maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Accurately report production counts, labor, and required documentation
- Perform basic equipment care and minor maintenance as needed
- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic math skills including measurement to thousandths and decimals
- Ability to read and comprehend graphs, charts & tables
- Mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, data entry)
- Ability to follow written instructions and procedures
- Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Manufacturing or skilled trades experience
- Experience with powdered metal or resin presses
- Understanding of SPC and process monitoring
- Standing for extended periods and repetitive tasks
- Lifting up to approximately 40 lbs
- Walking, bending, and stair climbing as needed
- Shift work may be required
