Why Join Us | DuPont Careers Role Overview The Business Development Manager – Life Sciences (West Coast Region) is a growth-driven, externally focused hunter role responsible for creating, identifying, and closing new business opportunities across the Life Sciences and Controlled Environments markets. This role owns expansion into new end-user accounts, new applications, and new segments, while accelerating adoption of the DuPont™ Controlled Environments portfolio, including DuPont™ Tyvek® IsoClean® solutions. Unlike traditional account management or channel support roles, this position is designed for aggressive opportunity creation. Success requires a hunter mentality—a demonstrated ability to proactively uncover unmet customer needs, penetrate new accounts, disrupt incumbent solutions, and convert leads into sustainable revenue growth using a consultative, value-based selling approach. Preferred Locations: Southern CA (Los Angeles or San Diego) Travel: 40-50% Home base/remote position Primary Responsibilities Business Development & New Account Growth Hunt and acquire net-new end-user accounts across Life Sciences, Biotech, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Medical Devices, and Controlled Environments. Drive territory expansion by identifying white-space opportunities and emerging customers. Own the full opportunity lifecycle from prospecting through close. Lead competitive displacement efforts. Pipeline Creation & Revenue Acceleration Build and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline. Proactively respond to critical sales events and high-value opportunities. Maintain accurate CRM pipeline and forecasting. Channel & Internal Alignment Partner with distributors to accelerate wins. Coach channel partners while retaining ownership of business development strategy. Manage channel dynamics and conflict. Value Creation & Market Influence Translate customer needs into customized product and solution offerings. Develop and articulate compelling value propositions. Expand market presence through industry events and thought leadership. What We Expect from Our Business Development Managers Strong hunter mindset focused on new business acquisition. Comfort with ambiguity and building opportunity where none exists. High personal accountability for pipeline and revenue outcomes. Ability to influence cross-functionally without authority. Relentless curiosity about customer needs and market dynamics. Why This Role Matters This Business Development Manager role is a front-line growth engine for the Life Sciences business. It exists to create demand, challenge the status quo, and accelerate market share gains through disciplined hunting, value creation, and relentless execution. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sciences or related field. Strong sales process discipline and CRM experience. Excellent communication, negotiation, and influence skills. Willingness to travel 50-60%. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years’ experience in Life Sciences, Controlled Environments, Cleanroom, or medical markets. 5+ years proven success in technical sales or business development. Understanding of GMP standards, cleanroom protocols and EU Annex 1 Knowledge of DuPont™ Tyvek® IsoClean® products or PPE solutions. The Pay range for this role is $107,100.00 - $168,300.00 Annual How Base Pay is Determined: DuPont has job leveling frameworks that help organize roles based on progressive levels of responsibility, proficiency and qualifications. Each role has an associated pay range (or an established pay rate for some roles) based on the competitive market in each country where we operate. Each individual’s pay is based on a variety of factors, including their role and the associated pay range for that role, their geographic location (i.e., country, state, metropolitan area), as well as their skills, experience, education and certifications, and performance.
