What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician/Optometric Assistant position at DuPage Optical?
Family oriented Optometry office seeking to find a candidate who is a fast learner and can be part of our exciting team. This individual will be responsible for patient flow through the office with emphasis on routine tasks.
Our practice is devoted to providing medical eye exams, specialty contact lenses, glasses, contact lenses so a friendly, upbeat and outgoing personality is a must.
Experience in the optical field is a plus, but is not necessarily critical for an interview. We are willing to train the right individual who is looking for a new career in healthcare.
Routine tasks include, but are not limited to; pre-testing patients, frame selection, answering phones, understanding Officemate software and insurance duties.
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
- Setting appointments
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out
- Perform preliminary testing before eye exams (training provided)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and optical displays
- Handle basic administrative and front desk duties
- Contact lens insertion and removal training.
- Educate and assist patient in selection of frames and lenses.
- Filing Insurance claims
- Summary of Job Requirements:
- At least one year of prior sales experience in a retail environment. (Preferred)
- Will train the right individual with a passion for helping others and a willingness to learn.
- Spanish speaking candidate is preferred.
