What are the responsibilities and job description for the External Affairs Internship position at DuPage County Health Department?
The DuPage County Health Department is excited to announce a new paid internship opportunity to work with our External Affairs team at our Central Public Health Center in Wheaton, Illinois. In this role will provide administrative, grant writing and support services to the DuPage Health Matters (DHM) program, promoting and communicating the goals of the DHM program. Our general hours are Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, this position will work 15 hours a week over two or three days.
- Developing grant applications
- Establishing a system for managing grants
- Follows up on communications for fundraising opportunities, including individual requests, grants and donations.
- Answers general inquiries regarding DHM.
- Reviews and composes general correspondence.
- Maintains confidentiality of privileged information; demonstrates sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups and cultures.
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work independently and collaboratively and have demonstrated strong organizational skills as well as exceptional writing skills.
