POSITION SUMMARY
We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Seasonal Animal Event and Client Services Worker within the DuPage County Animal Services Department. This position will support a variety of public-facing areas of animal shelter operations and make meaningful connections with our community of animal lovers. This position requires a motivated team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to fostering positive relationships between people and pets.
This position is eligible for Paid Leave hours at a proportional rate based on the number of hours regularly scheduled to work. For detailed information on paid time off, visit Employee Policy Manual, Section 5

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting with on-site educational programs and shelter tours
- Leading summer camp activities
- Accompanying the Education team to off-site presentations or promotional events
- Greeting visitors in our lobby, answering general questions and some light office work
- Assist shelter photographer with capturing animal photos
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
No minimum academic requirements.
Preferred Candidate will have:
- Ability to get along with others in the workplace
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of (or the ability to learn) the tools and techniques used in the humane handling of animals
- Strong spoken and written communication skills, including the ability to provide instruction to adults and children of all ages.
- Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required
