Fabricator

Job Summary:
Duo Lift, a leading manufacturer of agricultural and industrial trailers, is seeking a dependable Fabrication Worker to join our team. In this role, you will assist with the fabrication of high-quality trailer components by operating CNC machines, cutting and preparing materials, reading measurements and work instructions, and supporting production needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, safe work habits, and the ability to work well as part of a team.



Key Responsibilities:
  • CNC Machine Operation: Operate CNC equipment and related fabrication machinery to cut, shape, drill, or prepare metal components according to production requirements.
  • Material Cutting and Preparation: Measure, mark, cut, and prepare steel and other materials using saws, cutting tools, shears, or other fabrication equipment.
  • Blueprint and Work Order Review: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, cut lists, and measurements to ensure parts are fabricated accurately.
  • Machine Setup and Adjustments: Load materials, select proper programs or settings, adjust equipment as needed, and verify measurements before and during production.
  • Part Inspection: Inspect fabricated parts for accuracy, cut quality, dimensions, alignment, and overall workmanship before moving them to the next production step.
  • Tool and Equipment Operation: Safely operate hand tools, grinders, drills, measuring tools, overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other shop equipment as needed.
  • Material Handling: Move, stage, and organize raw materials and fabricated parts safely and efficiently to support production flow.
  • Maintenance and Housekeeping: Perform basic machine checks, keep work areas clean and organized, and report equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Quality Assurance: Follow quality standards and production specifications; troubleshoot minor issues and notify supervisors of discrepancies.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe material handling practices, and adherence to OSHA standards.
  • Documentation: Complete production paperwork, cut lists, inspection notes, or other required documentation accurately and on time.


Qualifications:
Preferred Experience:
  • Operating CNC machines, saws, cutting equipment, or other fabrication machinery.
  • Measuring, marking, cutting, and preparing metal materials for production.
  • Reading blueprints, drawings, work orders, cut lists, or tape measurements.
  • Working with steel, aluminum, trailer components, or other manufactured parts.
  • Using hand tools, grinders, drills, measuring tools, overhead cranes, hoists, or forklifts.
  • Maintaining quality standards in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Technical Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, cut lists, measurements, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and basic math skills, including accurate measuring.
  • Ability to identify material types, verify dimensions, and recognize quality issues.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly.
Communication:
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to follow instructions and communicate effectively.

Certifications: Forklift, CNC, fabrication, or welding certifications are a plus.
