Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
All successful candidates must Comply with general attendance policy
and all safety policies and procedures. Supplying your own basic tools is a requirement, specialty items will be provided when necessary
Job Description: Preventive maintenance and repair of all plant equipment and facilities
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for repairs of thermoforming plant equipment and any and all facilities equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance activities and any equipment projects as directed by supervisor
- Complete and turn in work orders and PM's in a timely manner and by due date
- Answer requested maintenance radio calls in a quick, respectful, and professional manner
- Be able to diagnose plastic forming equipment to keep downtime to a minimum
- Be proficient with hand tools, power tools, fabricating, welding, cutting, pneumatics and vacuum knowledge, strong electrical skills, plumbing, troubleshooting, motors, gears, drives, bearings, VFD's, PLC's, rigging, be able to climb a ladder, etc.
- Must be able to work OT when plant needs require it
- Be able to provide your own basic tools/toolbox. Specialty tools can be provided
- MUST be self-motivated, respectful, learnable, competent, a team player, and take pride in one’s job.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Prefer high school diploma or GED
3-5 years experience is required in maintaining of equipment and the industrial maintenance field, fabricating, compressed air, vacuum equipment, plumbing, electrical experience, basic hand tools, and troubleshooting of all facility equipment, knowledge in how machines operate
PREFERRED SKILLS
Be able to troubleshoot plant and facility equipment proficiently, effectively safely, and quickly
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for up to 8 hours a day
Electrical knowledge of AC/DC low and high voltage and troubleshooting is desired as well as welding and fabricating. Strong ability to diagnose equipment and understanding of repairs
Basic computer skills are desired and needed for parts ordering, training, machine operations, and vendor communications
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Must have an excellent attendance record.
Must be familiar with OSHA procedures, including lock out/tag out and proper PPE usage
Must be able to handle exposure to heat and/or cold, climb ladders, platforms, work from heights, crawl on and under tight spaces, and maneuver inside machines
Able to operate a forklift and scissor lift safely and maintain a license for both
Keep a clean and organized work area and maintenance shop
Bilingual would be ideal
This is currently a 2nd shift position only, M-Thur 2p-12a with Fridays being flexible on 1st shift IF needed, but hours and days may vary at times
