We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trusts and Estates Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our attorneys with all aspects of trust and estate administration, probate, and estate planning. You will have the opportunity to work directly with clients, draft certain documents, conduct legal research, and manage case files, while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with the administration of trusts and estates, including gathering and organizing client information, preparing accountings, and distributing assets to beneficiaries.
- Draft and review certain documents for attorneys in the firm, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate pleadings.
- Conduct legal research on various trust and estates law topics.
- Communicate effectively with clients, beneficiaries, and other professionals, such as financial advisors and real estate agents.
- Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records.
- Prepare for, attend client meetings, and court hearings.
- Stay up to date on changes in trust and estates law.
Qualifications
- Florida Registered Paralegal.
- Prefer knowledge of related fiduciary accounting and tax concepts including experience assisting in the preparation of federal estate and federal gift tax returns.
- 5 to 10 years of experience as a Probate Paralegal.
- Strong understanding of trust and estates law and procedures.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Proficient in legal software and case management systems.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to manage sensitive situations with compassion.
