Prepared Foods & Deli Clerk – Full Time Hourly

Job Description:

• Provide a high level of customer service to all customers.
• Fulfill customers prepared food orders by accurately entering their orders into the ordering system whether it be sandwich order or fried chicken
• Ensure that work area is clean, and all temperatures are documented per Health Department guidelines
• Restock and merchandise both the grab and go concept case and well as the deli salad case and top shelf prepared foods
• Display, stock, rotate, and store prepared food & deli products following food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies and procedures.
• Accurately prepare, weigh, slice (if necessary), price, package, and stock products at both the prepared food counter and deli counter
• Respond to needs of customers (answering questions, assist in the selection of products or provide recommendations)
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the department throughout the course of shift (restock, sweeping, washing/sanitizing work areas and serving utensils, take out the garbage if necessary)
• Maintain proper department supplies (e.g., shelf, case, sales floor, backroom, cooler, etc.).
• Ensures that all products are fresh and meet company quality standards. Checks for out-of-date products daily and follows appropriate product salvage policies.
• Ensures deli salad and deli cooler shelves and display cases have a wide variety of product. Stocks and rotates deli items, deli salads and prepared food items when necessary.
• Operates and handles deli equipment in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Ensures scale systems and ordering tablets are in working order. Makes sure items are weighed and priced accurately and appropriate prices are charged on prepared meals
• Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting in other departments as needed.

Requirements:

• Attention to detail a Must as well as accuracy and follow through.
• Ability to demonstrate a passion for food through interactive sales techniques and product display.
• Must project a clean and professional appearance.
• Requires Standing, Bending, Reaching & Lifting to 25 lbs, As Well as Go Up & Down Stairs
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Ability to operate within company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the store ie nights and weekends
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to learn and utilize computer applications.

Some experience preferred but not required. Will train the right person.
