What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Operations Manager position at Dunn-Rite Maintenance of IL?
Location: Plainfield, IL (Suburban Chicago – Multi-site travel required)
Job Type: Part-Time (20–30 hours/week to start, with growth to Full-Time)
Dunn-Rite Building Maintenance is a growing commercial cleaning company focused on delivering high-quality, detail-driven service across the Chicagoland suburbs. We take pride in doing things the right way—building strong client relationships, supporting our team, and creating systems that scale.
We are looking for a Field Operations Manager to oversee and execute day-to-day cleaning operations across multiple client locations. This is a hands-on leadership role—you will be responsible for ensuring jobs are completed to standard, supporting cleaning teams on-site, and acting as the bridge between ownership and field staff. You will work closely with leadership and collaborate with our senior operations lead to maintain consistency across all accounts.
You will play a key role in building and strengthening our field operations as we continue to grow.

- Troubleshoot issues on-site and solve problems in real time
- Communicate job completion status, updates, and concerns to ownership
- Ensure proper use of supplies, equipment, and time on-site
- Implement and maintain operational systems and checklists
- Step in when needed to support or complete cleaning tasks
- Identify opportunities for additional services or new business within existing accounts and communicate them to leadership
- Support occasional client walkthroughs or interactions when needed
This is not an entry-level role. Candidates must have hands-on experience in commercial cleaning operations.

- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or facilities operations
- Solid knowledge of cleaning processes and execution, including:
- Floor care (strip/wax, buffing, maintenance)
- Carpet cleaning (extraction, spotting, maintenance)
- Standard janitorial practices
- Deep cleans and post-construction cleaning
- Ability to manage a team while also working alongside them when needed
- High attention to detail—nothing gets missed, and standards are consistently met
- Reliable, organized, and accountable—you follow through and take ownership
- Comfortable traveling between multiple job sites throughout the day
- Strong communication skills with both team members and ownership
- You take ownership of your job sites—when something isn’t right, you take initiative and fix it
- Positive, upbeat, and solution-oriented—you bring good energy to the team
- Take pride in your work and hold others to a high standard
- Clear intentions—you show up to build something, not just collect a paycheck
- Growth-minded—you want to develop into a larger leadership role as the company expands
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
- $22–$30/hour (based on experience)
- 20–30 hours per week to start
- Clear path to a full-time, salaried leadership role as the company grows
- Performance-based increases as the company scales
- Bonus opportunities available for contributing to new business or account growth
This position is a key part of our growth. As we expand, we need strong operators who can maintain quality, support the team, and help build something bigger.
Success in this role means consistent job quality, strong team performance, and reliable communication across all accounts.
If you take pride in your work, lead by example, and want to grow with a company—this is that opportunity.
