Dunn Contractors is a commercial general contractor serving Anchorage and surrounding areas since 2003. We specialize in commercial tenant improvements, major structural repairs, carpentry, and general construction.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join our team for projects in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley.
Our first project is located in Big Lake, where we are restoring and modifying a steel barge. This phase is expected to last approximately 5–7 weeks, followed by additional projects in Big Lake and ongoing work in Anchorage.

We’re looking for someone who can start within 7–10 days.
This position offers steady work with the opportunity to stay long-term if it’s a good fit.
Pay ranges from $35-$48 per hour depending on experience

Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks on various materials and equipment.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise measurements and specifications.
- Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following company safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of welding equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of welding experience in a fabrication shop or construction environment.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques and safety practices.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Cell phones are required for documentation, communication, and navigation.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
