Summary Performs application of industrial liquid coating on fabricated steel ranging from light and medium structural steel to stairs, handrails, and miscellaneous steel.

Must have extensive knowledge and experience in spray painting using various types of equipment:
Bulldog Airless
Electric Airless
Pressure pot
Cup guns
Must have experience applying a variety of paint types
Must be able to mix paint per the required ratios. \
Read and understand directions and notations found on shop drawings and work documents.
Be able to use a wet film mil gauge.
Be able to use a dry film mil gauge.
Work with imperial dimensions (Feet, Inches, Fractions).
Understand expectations for quality in the work and meet those expectations.
Be familiar with and follow all company policies and safety regulations.
Have reliable transportation and be punctual getting to work on time.
Be able to work overtime if assigned.
Be a team player.
When there is nothing to paint the painter will assist other shop employees with whatever is needed.
Education and/or Experience
- Have a general diploma from either a high school or GED or completion of an applicable technical school or trade program.
- In lieu of a diploma, GED, or completion of technical program, you must be able to demonstrate a strong ability to read, write, and comprehend work material.
- Work experience in steel fabrication that includes structural and miscellaneous steel is desired and expected.
- Those showing a good attitude and having correct aptitude but lacking in experience, could be a candidate to join our company as an apprentice and work up to full position.
Other Requirements
- Must have own hand tools essential to performing the work of a Painter.
- Must have steel toed boots.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to E-Verify as a legally employable person.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Any certification that is related to the work is a plus.
