Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case preparation across various practice areas including family law, civil litigation, criminal law, and more
- Manage and organize legal documents using document management systems such as Clio and Westlaw
- Conduct thorough legal research utilizing Westlaw to support case strategies
- Draft and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with attention to detail and accuracy
- Support client communication by scheduling interviews, maintaining confidentiality, and providing updates on case progress
- Perform data entry, filing, and document review to ensure all case files are current and compliant with procedural law requirements
- Coordinate project management tasks related to multiple cases or legal projects while maintaining organizational efficiency
Requirements
- Proven paralegal experience with a strong understanding of procedural law and litigation support processes
- Familiarity with family law, criminal law, estate planning, and general litigation is highly desirable
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle confidential information discreetly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with Clio or other legal billing software is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability in legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and client communication
- Experience supporting attorneys through administrative tasks including filing, data entry, phone etiquette, and clerical duties
- Knowledge of procedural rules across various jurisdictions; ability to conduct comprehensive legal research and support litigation efforts
