Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig, a national law firm, is expanding its Washington, D.C. intellectual property group. We are seeking experienced patent attorneys who want the reach of a national platform with the collegiality and autonomy of a focused practice group. Our D.C. office is in the heart of Penn Quarter, between Pennsylvania Avenue and Capital One Arena. It is steps from Metro and surrounded by some of the city's best restaurants, museums, and cultural destinations.
What we're looking for:
- 8–10 years of patent prosecution and/or IP counseling experience
- A degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline (computer engineering, physics), with technical depth in areas such as semiconductors, telecommunications, signal processing, power systems, or embedded and software technologies is preferred
- Registration to practice before the USPTO
- An established, portable book of business
- The resources and client reach of a national firm, with opportunities to cross-sell across DBL's practice areas
- The freedom to build and lead your practice, not just maintain it
- A growing D.C. IP group where you can help shape its direction
Compensation Structure & Disclosures:
Job Type: W-2 Employment
Projected Earning Range: $125,000— $250,000 per year (Good-faith performance-based range for a book of $250 -450k)
This is a 100% commission basis with no fixed base salary. As a DBL Partner, your earnings are tied entirely to generated revenue (originating, managing, and billed work), featuring performance incentives.
